Race Recap from the RCX Show

For the drivers, and the fans, the RCX Supercross race is one of the most exciting races you will ever see. It is an all out sprint race on a tight track with $500 on the line.

The race format is like no other. They do a Supercross style start to make it really exciting and so no one has a starting advantage. There were two groups of seven cars for the four-minute heat races. The top two cars would advance to the five minute-main with the remaining going to a three-minute battle in the LCQ (last chance qualifier) for one spot in each group to go to the main.

In the 1/8 scale buggy heat race I got an awesome start and was battling for second. We held our own and got the transfer straight to the main.

In the 1/10 scale truck heat race I had a rough start after coming up short on a jump and crashing on the first lap. I was all the way in the back of the field. I thought my hopes of a transfer were shot. I didn’t give up and was driving that truck to the brink of extinction. I was coming through the pack and caught the leaders and passed them. I couldn’t believe it and was able to take the heat race win.

In the 1/8 scale buggy main I got a great start and settled into second right behind the leader. My plain was to just hang back and wait for a mistake. I ended up making the mistake and going to the pack of the pack. I wasn’t able to charge trough the pack and finished fourth.

In the 1/10 truck class I got another good start, this time I was in third. I wanted to get to the lead this time. I got into second and then into the lead, but then going into a corner, second place wanted first and I was sent into the cheap seats. I was right back to where I started in third. I made quick work of second and set myself up for some revenge……I wasn’t gonna make him crash, just rough him up a little. I jumped to the inside in a corner before a big double and tapped his rear end so he would have to roll it. I soared over the top and had enough room to pull away. It felt awesome to take the win and the $500.
